Random Fact Friday

Soo a big part of this whole blog thing is getting to know the girls/guys  you follow. You start to recognize their writing style and you feel like you can actually hear them saying the things you read, you recognize the people in their life, and you start to feel like you know the person!! That’s one of the reasons I love blogs/blogging.

So I’ve decided to have a Random Fact Friday!! I’ll share a few facts about me and you can share a few facts about you!! It’ll be like having coffee at Starbucks without the overpriced latte, smelly clothes/hair afterwards, and actually being in the same place at the same time… Ok here it goes :)

1. Speaking of Starbucks – I get the same thing every single time I go – BIG shocker there :) Either a White Mocha hot, iced, or frappucino’ed

2.  When I get in my car I think I’m Danica Patrick. Or Speed Racer. But Danica is prettier. I don’t always drive really fast… but I  love to drive. And I love to get where I’m headed. ** Also side note. I google imaged Danica Patrick and was slightly horrified.
I chose the Got Milk campaign because it was the least racy picture.
I never realized she was like the Kim Kardashian of NASCAR. Weird.

3. I love chocolate. Milk is my favorite, Dark is definitely ok, and White is tasty but uncommon. And while I love chocolate – I hate candy. Sure I’ll have a starburst or a handful of sour patch kids – but other than that I think it’s gross. Easter candy has no appeal to me… and neither does Halloween really. I’m not a candy kid…

4. I love Disney World. Love love love love it. And one of my dreams of all dreams is to be Belle in the Beauty and the Beast show at Hollywood Studios. Belle was always my favorite and this past January I teared up watching the shortened show again. It’ll never happen. But it’s nice to have dreams like that, don’t cha think?

5. And since I’m still on the Royal Wedding high… I’ll add some humor. The fact: I love hats. I think it’s super cool that everyone wears them to Royal Weddings. It sets a Royal Wedding apart from any other one… It’s classy, It’s fabulous. Humor: Was anybody else thinking this?!? HAHA. Oh dear. Yikes. The blue one isn’t too bad. But if I saw the other sister I’d want to throw something through it… And how is that staying on and not driving her insane?!? Crazy. Slightly upstaging the bride? I think so.
Thankfully Kate was too perfect to be upstaged :)

Hope you enjoyed the random facts!! Leave me a comment with a five about you – and let me know what you thought about the Royal Wedding!! Didn’t Kate look AMAZING!?!?

Change in Plans

So as I have previously mentioned and kind of re-mentioned because it’s such a big deal – Spring Break is here for Mark!! And that means that he has zero stress and more down time, even though we are both working a lot this week.

Anyways – last night we watched Kim and Kourtney Take New York and Mark is now kinda obsessed with Scott. Mark and I are slightly slightly like Kourtney and Scott – they’re kind of gross in their humor, which we aren’t – but Mark does/says/reenacts things that I normally wouldn’t find funny. But it’s Mark. So it is. And now I realize everyone is probably like that. There’s that one person that’s the exception and makes them laugh. So yeah – maybe we can all identify with the Kourt and Scott… Anyways - we then watched the Fab Five special on ESPN and I fell asleep. Shame.

Today we had great plans of going downtown but I slept in until10:45 – those 5:30am wake up calls seriously caught up with me… My sleepyheadness ruined our plans so as usual we reverted to our back-up – Chipotle, stroll around the mall, sign up for the $5,000 give-away, drool over the things we would buy if we won the $5,000, sit in Starbucks, people watch, look at each other, and then go home.

It was nothing special. But it was a relaxing, fun day. When we first met we would walk around the mall all the time… Those were the days… HAH. not really. I’d much prefer the way things are now :) Tomorrow he’s coming up here after work and we have plans to go thrift shopping. We shall see… hopefully we’ll find something exciting!!

Also – I love these earrings. I got them at Charlotte Russe – they’re little bows… I’d wear them everyday but they irritate my ears a little… They’re totally worth the pain though!

And unfortunately there’s no Inspired Interiors this week… I was too busy this weekend with training and just want to focus on work this week.. Hopefully next weekend!!

Tonight I am going to watch The Bachelor – TEAM EMILY!!!! I hope tomorrow I can rejoice in that victory!!! I just love her. She’s so sweet and the fact that Brad would step in and be a dad and a husband – I. Just. Love. It. It’s a happy ending :) Also – I heard a rumor that the next Bachelorette is Ashley H. Didn’t she look great at the Women Tell All last week?!? I hope the rumor is true and it all works out for her!! The way she left was sort of tragic… they just fell apart in South Africa :(

I better go check on dinner. I’m filling in for my mother tonight… YIKES!!

L-O, L-O, L-O, L-O-V-E

Throwback to Ashley Simpson!! Sing it with me :) I really used to think that song was awesome... now not so much. And that leads me to today. Today has consisted of a mix of things I love and things I opposite-of-love. Sooo we'll start with the bad news first...

The Things I Opposite-of-Love:
getting out of the shower - cold everything
people who forget they are in America - walk on the right side of the road/sidewalk please!!
traffic - sometimes i am soooo thankful i don't have a car this semester, i might run people down
really cute shoes that hurt - my feet are too sensitive... why cant sneakers look like stilettos?
dog hair - i love the dog... i hate the hair. all. over. me.

The Things I love:
opening my eyes and seeing the sun rise through my window - nature displays the beauty of God
getting out of bed and putting on my quilted robe - best christmas present ever
peppermint mocha creamer - from my momma
sudoku - especially during American History... we  covered the Civil War in 75 minutes?!?
GLEE - gleegleegleegleeglee. i was meant to be on that show...
Cheesy Crust in the cafe - the pizza might be lame, but the crust was to die for!!
White Peppermint Mochas - starbucks is genius. even better when i dont pay.
Day Dreaming - planning the layout of my dream house is one of my all time favorite things
Great News - finding out from my sister that she and her fiance are one step closer to setting their wedding date
Thursday Night Football - Eagles and cuddling with my boy. best ending to a day ever.
my boy - he is my best friend

all in all it's been a wonderful day. and im glad my loves outnumber my opposites.
What did you love about your day?

My Default vs My Calling

Lately I have been feeling very lost and confused inside my own life. I've been longing for home and for things that are not in God's plan for my life at this time. I get so frustrated because I want to be content with where I am but struggle to find things to be excited and joyful about. All I tend to see are the negative things... and that is SO not me!
Yesterday in Chapel the Provost of my school said, "the human default is complaining," during his sermon. That hit me really, really hard. I realized that I complain about my situation because I am not thrilled with it. I complain because I have "nothing to wear" in my closet, because the friends that I live with are "on my last nerve", because the food in the cafeteria "is so much worst than last year" (actually debatable), because that professor is "completely unqualified to teach", because because because. I complain because it is the human default. It is not, however, my calling. Instead of complaining, I need to thank God for the numerous ways he blesses me every single day. And so, here is my list of things that struck me as blessings today:

1. My boyfriend's house which he fondly calls "The North Pole" from Black Friday until mid-January.
Tonight I had dinner at their house and after we finished eating everyone sat together in the living room to watch Rudolph. It was such a perfect moment.

2.  White Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks
My older sister had to come down to school today for an appointment (she is student teaching this semester and is living at home) and she surprised me at work with coffee. I had no idea she was coming and the drink hit the spot on this rainy day.

3. Making plans to have dates with friends.

My dear friend Mary and I are going to the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission Thrift Store on Friday and then are going to her apartment to look through fashion magazines and have a heart-to-heart. She has been such a HUGE encouragement to me since I met her last fall.

Reflecting on God's blessings in my life is such an incredible way to end my day. Thank you Lord for all of your provision, guidance, and blessing in my life.
